Sellout

Writer's picture: NBRNBR

As long as I have been around activist circles, I have heard this notion of being a sellout bandied about in many different ways. I have been disappointed in the arrogance of that superiority comforter/game.

I have even refused comradery with those who wanted me to join on the basis that “we are better than them.”

I have seen people point fingers at others accusing them of being sellouts when the only difference between them is awareness and potentially willingness.

There is more than one speck in our eyes, although we behave as if there is only one. Maybe there is one at a time, but life is a marathon, so it is best to attain humility and remain humble to discover the next speck.

I have expressed this before. Life is not linear, no matter how many times smart and seemingly successful people express that it is. Life is a lot more fluid than powerbrokers and thought leaders who seem to rely on certainty would have us believe.

To understand whether one is a sellout, one would have to discover their principles beyond what they have been programmed to execute. This shytstem keeps people so desperate and striving that people barely have time or energy for much more than survival and distraction. Some can barely afford to recover given how much those services cost thanks to the conservative cabal of white body supremacy.

Invariably, I have seen countless stories of those who have been running on the treadmill on which they have been set versus discovering their "purpose". They are even looking very successful in it. Some don’t realize that some choose to come off the treadmill to preserve their health or to stop giving their labor to hegemony in many ways. Some are searching for ways to create a different reality for us all, contributing what we can afford.

So, remember, as I have said for years now, the only way to completely boycott this system is to be naked and stop breathing. For those who are wearing the Magic Glasses, persist however you can. For those still ignorant of the pervasiveness of the system, stop discounting and making fun of those who came off the treadmill. Everyone, keep loving, or at least being kind.
