This blog entry is not about discouraging people from having their heads on a swivel as the wise of us do... this is about what has us consumed.
Some of us are just parrots for the latest greatest things just because it's been served to us.
I have friends whose social media is more like a ticker of reactions to whatever is going on in major media, like mine can be about politics and social justice topics. All good, I check their feeds for what's happening in their area because I have always liked first person accounts.
Lecrae, recently posted something about the latest NasX hubbub. I was looking for more drops of what's cooking in his kitchen when I stumbled across this.
He expressed exactly how I feel about most things in life. I actually learned this from the Freddie Kruger phase in the 80s, yes, I am that young. 😉 If ya didn't dream (have a nightmare) about him, he couldn't kill you in your sleep. I think that is the last horror movie I ever watched that wasn't couched in sci-fi. So, like most horrific things I experience, I took the lesson and left the fear. From then on out, I decided to ignore what I could obsess over, the compelling keeps my attention.
Yes, the Bible is always there for me, think on those things...
I actually even recently advised a friend that anything where a "just don't choose it for yourself approach would be appropriate just isn't our business. I let people live as long as I have no conviction about a thing. If I do, I will discuss it.
We live in a world of choices. Are we willing to make ours a compelling, versus a forced one?
Hear ye, hear ye...
