When I Move You Move

Writer's picture: NBRNBR

This post by Elizabeth Booker Houston (below) was just what I needed after seeing and hearing all the novices to the political landscape with platforms running their mouths.

They want to be “revolutionaries,” but change doesn’t often happen at the speed we would like. The only way that happens is if we start offing people, which I am against for many reasons. Least of all, won’t we be just like the people we are trying to remedy by going down that path verbally or actually? I only speak against people publicly who have shown me their behavior in many ways, not just because they don't align to my sensibilities.

This entry is about strategic thinking about VPOTUS Kamala Devi Harris’s campaign for the US presidency in the face of people tearing her down. I referenced recent posts of mine on social media to develop this.

I will not add anything to the public discourse that takes away from people turning out for VP Harris's run for the White House. If I have differences or concerns about her, I will share it as I can after her election. Too bad so many Democrats expect to fall in love more than they fall in line strategically. I am not saying one should do a JD Vance about this, but please be reasonable at least with those who are moving in the right direction. Don't let the advantage of not having to do the job make you a armchair quarterback.

I don't know what people who speak against her right now think they are doing. She and whoever the running mate is that she chooses is nothing like the alternative ticket. Let's do all of this constructive criticism after January 20, 2025 (happens to be MLK Day that year - thanks @aimee_allison for highlighting this).

I will be operating as @bookersquared said in this video.

Reposted from @bookersquared We have to work twice as hard to get half, but you expect us to magically fix these systems while simultaneously exposing ourselves to further harm? No. Hell no.#Boundaries

I will be operating as I do until we are able to have what we want.

I think of people who don't vote, those tearing her down and spreading misinformation without a stitch or a comeback are operating as tools of those who do not want the potential future we can have. I still love ya as a human, but please notice the ripple effects of your actions. Is your self-righteousness more important than the strategic plays that need to be made now?

Let's do whatever we can to make President Kamala Devi Harris a reality. Learn the answers to the attacks on her. Donate time, talent, or treasure if you can. Encourage people to register and do what you can to make sure they show up to vote. Make sure you know what you need to know about voting where you live and have a plan.

I do my best to vote in all elections. This isn't one for any of us to miss.

🗳️🌊💙
